GREATNESS
Ever since my son started to walk my daddy taught him the down, set, hut stance and he would take off running; we would all fall out laughing. When he was younger I remember not having the resources to be able to sign him up for recreational and when he did my boo was over the weight limit. He would be so out of breathe during practice they were afraid he was going to have an asthma attack. With all that work he had the strength but could not play because of the limits. 7th grade JV, Trell had a difficult time but he started to gain that confidence and learned his position. 8th grade year he became a leader of his team and earned defensive MVP. As a freshman he practice with Varsity and now as a sophomore plays as a starter on Varsity.😉 Last week he saw his old middle school coach and he could not believe how much he has grown and was once that kid that could not catch his breath (My son said he mentions it all the time, LOL) I have to say my hubby turned him into a workout junkie. And if he doesn't get it in he is just having a bad day altogether. He recovered from shoulder surgery, after 6 long months. That boy went outside, the gym, anyone's house, even at the beach working out with his "bag and equipment". Sometimes 3 times a day, smh. So he was ready for an awesome season but today my Toodie's enitre world stopped spinning. The Dr. said he has a torn meniscus and a tear in his ACL (torn and tear is a big difference, I see now)
I always tell my boys if you lose something, God is going to give you something better in return. This is just a test just like in the past and soon it will be your testimony. He said a few months ago: Momma I want to make it BIG so I could buy you whatever you want and dad a new business. I told him as long as you follow your dreams and you are happy that all that matters.
He is heartbroken and so are we but YOU can overcome this. You have the drive and perseverance that will take you beyond your farthest dreams.
I wish I could take away the disappointment, pain and heartbreak. Seeing him cope so far just amazes me. The strength! Next season you will be bigger, stronger, wiser and faster than before. heart emoticon #destinedforgreatness #lovemyToodie # #biggestfan

STILL APART OF THE TEAM
Teaching our teenager how to overcome adversity is tough. So much easier said than done, but you will make it. Your dad and uncle are the prime examples of overcoming challenges. I can't imagine senior year and an injury arises at the beginning of the season ,but they made it!!
It's tough to tell a sophomore starter that this is just an obstacle and YOU ARE STILL APART OF THE TEAM! He is preparing you for something greater! You have to listen, be humble, have great sportsmanship and be a team player. I know it tough and it is tough watching you. But he is teaching you to become a leader, know all your team mates and how it feels to be on the side line just for a little while. So go my boy and face adversities because he preparing you for GREATNESS!!
